If Shakespeare was still alive, he would be about 400 years old on that day and to celebrate this fact and to acknowledge his widespread and everlasting popularity, there will be a performance of a Shakespeare play by groups of young people, at 19.00 local time. 57 groups from 31 countries are taking part in the project: Alaska, Britain, Ghana, Norway, Romania, China and Japan, to name but a few! The festival
starts in New Zealand and will finish twenty-four hours later in Hawaii.

We have decided to perform an abridged version of the funny and moving ‘Twelfth Night’. Auditions were held in January and rehearsals are well underway. The cast is made up of students from S1 to S5 from the English Section, some of whom are experienced actors, while others are performing for the first time. What they all share is a commitment to making the performance as memorable as possible for their audience. Rehearsals are held after school, on two afternoons per week, which requires some sacrifices to be made, but these young people are very dedicated. It is great fun for me to work with them and I know that we
will produce something which we can all be proud of.
We look forward to welcoming you to one of our two performances on either Wednesday, 23rd April or Thursday, 24th April at 19:00.
