Absences

Absences due to sickness

When a child in the Nursery or Primary School is absent due to sickness, the parent/legal guardian should inform the class teacher via email by 8:30 that morning.

For students who are out sick for more than 2 days, parents/legal guardians should email a medical certificate to the class teacher. If no certificate is provided, the absences will be counted as unexcused.

Children who are out sick directly before or after a holiday should also have a medical certificate (even if it is for just one day), or the absence will be unexcused.

Absences for reasons other than sickness

In the Nursery and Primary Schools, parents/legal guardians may request that absences for reasons other than sickness be excused.

In such cases, the parent/legal guardian should email the request to Ms Úna Clancy, Deputy Director, (una.clancy@eursc.eu) and the class teacher. The request should include the full name and class of the child, as well as a confirmation in writing that the parent/legal guardian will take full insurance responsibility for the child during the absence.
